Yoga Students on a wall

Dear All,

I hope that everyone had a good and safe journey home, or onward to a continuing adventure on Sunday!

The past week has been one of the most uplifting and unique holidays I have ever had the good fortune to experience. I felt such warmth and support from the entire group, the yoga gave me a new sense of freedom and courage. I can't express in words just how amazing I feel and perhaps my show of emotion on Saturday says it all.
Warrior I - Solo Student

Upon leaving Jorox and my new friends on Sunday I was not filled with sadness, but a lightness of spirit to be so fortunate to have a new network of friends from all over the world. There is a sense of a growing bond between us which I hope very much to sustain and nurture.

I have been proactive already this morning with an hours practice at home, the only problem being the very low ceilings in the cottage resulting in grazed knuckles!! I have been inspired to look into following a Yoga Teacher training course and have the application form on my computer already, so I will be asking you James for a reference if you don't mind.

A huge thank you to you, James for your dedication, calmness and enjoyable teaching, I am looking forward to next year already! Enjoy the photos and I look forward to hearing from everyone soon. Until then with a warm heart I wish you a bright and cheerful day.

Lots of love
Dom xxJames Jewell and Molino del Rey owner Anthony Arnold

Thanks for such an enjoyable week - I haven't laughed and enjoyed myself so much in such a long time. Clare and myself really seemed to have the giggles all week - you know those sorts of laughs that go into your belly and you can't stop? - like trying to stop laughing in mass when you're a kid! What can I say - the craic was mighty! Anyhow, work etc. is a great leveller although it's great to think back on all the fantastic experiences we had. Lorraine and Yvonne had spoken so much about their holiday last year so we knew that we would enjoy ourselves - but everything really surpassed my expectations - the yoga, the location, Molino Del Rey and lovely staff, the lovely treatments.... I could go on and on and have just been raving about everything since I came home. I'm sure you hear this sort of thing all the time - but what was also particularly great were the other fantastic characters....

Take care of yourself and keep taking the cocktails!

Sooooo loved being in Molino, enjoyed all the yoga practices, chatting to people, having "me" time. It was just what I needed. Feel strong again.

Thank you so much for a really wonderful week in Italy. It was just beautiful - lovely place, lovely people, lovely weather...I miss them all. Your teaching was as inspiring as ever and reaffirmed my commitment to this whole yoga business. In fact, I've just sent off my deposit for the course with Tara Fraser which starts in 6 weeks' time. Can't wait to get started.

Just wanted to say thank you from Rod and I for the most lovely week.  Your week helped me to cope with things on my return. Love your nidra cd although only had chance to use it once. Let me know about any other retreats this year.
Lots of love
Joan

I'd also just like to thank everybody for helping me to have such a fantastic week, it was just what I needed and I hadn't laughed so much in ages. Am off to my yoga class again tomorrow but it's just not the same, can't wait till my next retreat..............

Take care and hope to see you again.
Arpita.

Thanks so much for facilitating an outstandingly memorable week at Molino Del Rey in August.

The gorgeousness of the setting, the wonderful people in the group and the yoga practice itself all merge to form a very special memory of the time we spent together. Everyone was so harmonious and in tune with everyone else. We had lots of good discussions and lots of laughs, and we all made new like-minded friends.

I didn't mind a bit being the only man in the group!!! In fact it was a privilege and a real joy to be with such empowered and energetic people. So men, what are you waiting for!!!

I feel hugely benefited by the yoga practice and learned many interesting new things. The yoga nidra was an especially profound experience for me and a practice I will explore further. So again many thanks to you, our hosts Anthony, Lydia and Dimitri and to everyone on the course. Best Wishes,
Tristrem Carlyon ( Bath U.K.)

I want to thank you once again for such an amazing week. It definitely had its ups and downs for me but I can honestly say it was the most deeply fulfilling and joyful week of my life. Before going to Spain I worried that you might not have a sense of humour - so many yoga teachers are so bloody serious, and I was really relieved to see that you could joke your way through the postures, laughter makes the pain melt away. And as I have already said, the thing that totally blew me away and what I least expected, was your compassion for us all. It would be really easy for you to have a professional distance and not get involved in our personal or spiritual crises, instead you made us all feel thoroughly looked after. I have participated various spiritual/personal development workshops and never have I felt as safe as I was that week. I think that reflected on the group and we were all in turn really supportive and loving towards each other. That week I felt completely held and hopefully that has started to heal some deep wounds. At Molino I felt truly at home in a way I never have before (apart from maybe years ago travelling in India) and now I feel homesick. I am reading After the Ecstasy, the Laundry to try to figure out how I can feel so at home in my own home.

BoatPose on River wallDear Anthony and Lidiya
Thank you so much for a really great week in Spain.  I had a fabulous time - the yoga with James was amazing and I really felt that I got so much more out of it than last time (which I thought was an impossibility as last year was fantastic). The treatments were really wonderful.  I only wish I could have had more!  I was spoilt with two massages which were a lovely experience.

Anthony, it was so good to hear you sing and play guitar with Camilla on the last night... very special and we all thoroughly enjoyed the impromptu concert.  You should play and sing more.... you have a great talent take care and until next time Lots of Love

Back at work today, still feeling pretty mellow and relaxed, can even feel the sun on my back if I close my eyes for a moment :-)  Thanks again for a wonderful week, it was everything I hoped for and of course exceeded my expectations. Say Hi to all in Molino del Rey for me please!  Maybe I'll have to have 2 yoga holidays next year?!  Spain & Italy!

Dear All,

I guess you must be wondering whether I have dropped off the earth, gone into orbit or some act of God has struck Switzerland.  None of that, I have been very remiss in writing, so with emphatic and sincere apologies I hope we can stay in touch.

The experience in Molino del Rey was totally mind blowing for me. The whole week was like a dream and I really wish I didnt have to wake up!  I was truly blessed in finding the retreat and getting to know you all.

As promised here is the recipe for that wonderful banana bread, i have tried to remember the translations of the ingredients, should I be making a mistake, someone please let me know asap!

100gr Manequilla (margarine)
200gr Azucho (sugar)
2 cucharitas vainilia (2 teaspoons vanilla)
4 platanos (4 bananas)
100 gr marina (flour)
75 gr chocolate
2 huevos (eggs)

Bon Appetit as we say în these parts. Would love to hear from you
 Meera

Many thanks James. I think we are all wishing we were back in sunny Spain living the wonderful life we lived last week, thank you for wonderful memories.  We have the banana cake recipe however to keep us going.
Melissa Jersey

Once again, thank you for the wonderful week in Molino del Rey! When I left to the retreat I was very stressed out and worried of many things and noticed when coming back home how much calmer and peaceful I was. I just hope to be able to keep that peacefulnes. Annika as well was as a newborn person! You have a great talent as a teacher and I'm lucky to have possibility to continue your classes.

Wow! what a wonderful experience I had in Spain. As a certified Yoga Instructor from America I can tell you that I was truly impressed with the level of knowledge and compassion portrayed by James Jewell, he is a real treasure. He led the classes with enthusiasm and grace. With each class came a eye opening self realization, not to mention, Fantastic Yoga.

James I have to say that this trip has really changed my life. I really got to be the person I really enjoy being with, me. I also enjoyed meeting everyone and getting to know you.

I will think of you often and with it a smile!

Lots of Love.
Rock On,
Kathy

Relaxing Up the wallMy real reason for writing was to say thank you for the week - I enjoyed all the classes (each one so different) and everything about the week.  I have arrived home feeling, well the best way I can describe it as lighter, freer - even my knee!!   I will also try and keep those earmuffs off :-)  I have so many great memories, as well as the yoga, of the people, the laughing, the river, the views, Antonios and the dancing.  In particular I will not forget the salsa dancing (and was it surfer dancing as well???).

I also wanted to say that I think my word simplicity was good for me and I will be trying to not over complicate matters in my life.  And of course continue with my yoga practice with Emma and at home and also listening to your Yoga Nidra CD.

 Thanks again

The week there this year was really special- I learnt alot and let many things go that came up through the practice, the meditation, the walks, swims and talks and being with everyone and my sister. Keep well.

Hi James

Exciting news! I went to the gym yesterday and did some yoga while I was there.....using a step I did a backbend, and then managed one with my hands against the lower step (sort of up the side of, as support). Wow!! managed to do a supported one today with John's help. I am still pain free between my shoulder blades too. Joy!! I am just about to do some of the suggested postures after sorting out food and the fridge (!), and then finish packing for a week in Cyprus, but am taking my belt.

Thank you for another great week; another excellent week of yoga. It was varied, with a good balance of stuff for us all, and just as inspiring as last year, if a little harder. Just what a good teacher should do! (no 'shoulds'!!)

All for now.
love Kim

.

Thank you for a wonderful week at Molino Del Rey. I really had the most fantastic time- It was just what I needed and more. and I am already thinking about creating a peaceful meditation place in my garden. Thanks again. If all goes well I will book a return visit next summer- hopefully with others too.
Love Helen

Natalie

Yoga Studio Smiles

It is hard to believe a week ago we were glad for some clouds as it was a bit too sunny!  What does England's weather think it's doing!?  Fortunately my Molino Glow is still going strong.  Thank you to all of you for such a wonderful week, especially James of course!

Lots of love
Harriet
